Episode 4 – El Sisi In the Neighbourhood

On the evening of January 6, 2015, as Coptic Christians were celebrating the Nativity Feast, a historic event took place. Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El Sisi became the first president in history to personally attend to the Coptic Cathedral in Cairo to wish Christians a Merry Christmas. Copts celebrated the historic occasion, but after the excitement has settled down, it’s time to assess whether this visit is an indication of a change on the horizon, or just politics. Join Sherif Rizk as he assess what this could mean for the future of Copts in Egypt, and to see what was troubling about Copts’ reaction to El Sisi’s visit.
